Welcome to Mom Rewritten!

I’m Julie Bigboy, a freelance writer with a wide range of styles and the ability to write on a vast variety of topics. In 2017 I re-branded from my site Saving Up for Disney and have moved my work to Mom Rewritten. You can reach me directly with inquiries at momrewritten at yahoo . com.

My freelance work has appeared on several sites.

  • My personal blog, Mom Rewritten. Her,e I share with you how moms can make little changes that make a big difference, whether it be positive parenting, health, travel or simple living.
  • Disneyland With Kids, co-owner of website, Facebook group and podcast.
  • TravelingMom.com, where I share in-depth traveling advice and itineraries.
  • The Points Guy, with theme park guides for families.

A Wide Range of Topics

After working full time for 18 years, I’m a Stay-at-Home-Mom. I’m re-writing myself. And I know that so many other moms are doing the same! These little changes we can make in our daily lives develop us into stronger and healthier people. There’s a big difference between contentment and complacency.

I’m chatting with other moms on the areas where we can conceive little changes that make a big difference.

As a Southern California native, I’ve spent a lot of time at Disney parks. With 40+ years of Disney travel under my belt, I share my expert tips for making the most of your magical vacations. I also share San Diego local travel tips including area museums and theme parks like LEGOLAND California, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and Sesame Place.

Brand Ambassador & Media Influencer

As a trusted writer for both my own site and other websites, I write about what I know and have experienced first hand. I love to share my knowledge with a personal touch and my readers have responded to my natural writing style.

I’ve worked with Disney, Jenny Craig, Clearview Eye & Laser Medical Center, ErgoBabyDinnerly, and Get Away Today. I was also a blog ambassador for LEGOLAND California.

Please email me at momrewritten @yahoo dot com to discuss a partnership!

I'd love it if you removed "my reward for being good," or "I will be good by" from your behavior charts. I have worked with children as a therapist for over 30 years, and it's incredibly unhealthy to associate "good" and "bad" with behavior. Children who have difficulty managing behavior are not "bad," and children who are better at managing behavior are not "good." The last thing we want to do is make a child feel "bad" if he/she does not meet the behavioral expectations of the chart. That isn't the goal. That is a set up for failure. No offense to mom bloggers, but sometimes I find it difficult to read advice and view resources from well intentioned but uninformed or uneducated individuals. Some of you have have a significant influence on parents, so I'd rather you leave the parenting advice up to the professionals. Thanks. Susan
