I have a reason to smile. But then, don’t we all when we think about it? Sure, there are always things in the daily grind that get us feeling down. But if you’re reading this post, you likely have fresh running water in your home, food in your cupboards and a cozy place to sleep. Life is beautiful and we can all think of a reason to smile! We really should appreciate everything we do have and focus less on what we don’t have. And we can do that simply with a few daily confidence boosters.

If there’s anything that I want people to know about me, it’s that I have a positive attitude about things. Even if things aren’t particularly going my way, I want to convey an outward appearance of confidence. Naturally, a big bright smile of certainty can go a long way towards showing others that you’re self-assure. Even if I don’t have it together, other people think I do because I’m smiling through it instead of gritting my teeth!
These are a few ways that I bolster my confidence daily. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a reason to smile too.
Brushing Up Gives You a Reason to Smile
A smile can truly be the chain reaction that not only gives me confidence in my day, but can make others feel good too. Smiling at a stranger, saying hello and being friendly is easy and free. If I’m going to smile boldly, I for sure better have bright teeth and fresh breath!
Colgate TotalSF Advanced Whitening Toothpaste is my go-to toothpaste. I appreciate the clean feeling I have after brushing with Colgate TotalSF. It fights bacteria on teeth, tongue, cheeks, gums.

And of course, Colgate TotalSF helps prevents plaque, gingivitis, and tartar build-up. True story, at my dental check-up last week the hygienist was delighted at how little plaque I had on my teeth. That’s because I’ve been brushing with the original Colgate Total and now the new Colgate TotalSF twice a day!
Their new breakthrough formula does even more including helping with sensitivity, enamel and breath. Colgate TotalSF is a fantastic value, considering all the amazing benefits and now there’s even more to love.
Trying Something New
I’ve never wanted to be a stagnant adult and it’s altogether too easy to get stuck in a rut! I’m constantly trying to stretch and try new things. Even things that I consider “scary”. In the last few years, I’ve taken night school classes in a new career field, signed up to speak at a big conference and taught myself how to use the pressure cooker.
No matter big or little, always continue to try new things! Trying new things might make you nervous initially but keep at it and it will be the perfect confidence booster next time you’re ready to take on a new task.
Write It Down
That internal voice can really mess with our confidence. Take a few minutes each day to write down what’s bothering you, just to get it out on paper and out of your mind. Then write down additional confidence boosters of all the wonderful things that make you YOU. Always make sure to come up with more good things than negative!
Working on What’s Inside
For me personally, I don’t want to just convey confidence, I want to feel confident inside too. Working on what’s inside can mean lots of different things to different people. For me personally, it means keeping up my health with regular exercise and good food. It’s continuing to learn and grow my mind and my brain. It’s simply working on being a better person to those around me.
Exude Confidence on the Outside
If I’m feeling confident on the inside, my outside appearance is a natural reflection of my attitude. I’ve gotten a little lazy in the past with my appearance and for sure, I’ve definitely felt my confidence levels drop in relation to this. For me, wearing a little makeup, styling my hair and putting on a flattering outfit goes a long way. I just don’t get the same energy when I’m wearing my pajamas!
Go a step further and practice your phone selfies. Use the filters before sharing on social media and then feel your confidence soar when you hear the compliments.
Get to Know Yourself
What are the things that suck your confidence levels? Meditate, pray and get into deep thoughts about what makes you feel good. Figure out what your core principals are that make you a happier and more confident person.
We already know that when we’re happy the others around us are more likely to feel happy too. We’re sad and gloomy? That’s going to rub off on everyone around us as well. The more you know your triggers the better we can nix the black cloud and encourage ourselves into thinking better and feeling better.
Volunteering to Help Another
No matter how much time you can offer, volunteering just makes you feel good. When you think outside yourself, you’ll have less time to focus on your flaws and truly show others what you have to offer. Whether it be an hour helping in a classroom or all day cleaning up trash at the beach, putting forth efforts to help others simply puts a smile on your face.
