LEGOLAND Halloween California
LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat takes place on select evenings during the fall season. Guests must have a special event ticket to stay for the LEGOLAND Halloween party.
The traditional LEGOLAND Halloween California event, Brick or Treat was cancelled in 2020. In its place, a smaller event took place called LEGOLAND California Halloween in Miniland.

Here are a few of the updates that LEGOLAND California has released about the updated event.
- Lord Vampyre’s Very Important Monsters (V.I.M) Dance Party – Interactive dance party.
- Operation Monster Squad
- A Candy-Coated Curse – Live show with singing and dancing.
- 4D Movie: The Great Monster Chase – 4D adventure filled with special effects.

LEGOLAND is already so much fun during the day, especially for preschoolers and elementary-aged kids. Be sure to keep reading and see how you can combine enjoying the park and still stay late for the party!

Is it Crowded at LEGOLAND Halloween Party?
A large majority of the rides and attractions will be open during the Party Nights event. However, you’ll still need to pick and choose what you want to do during the course of the six hour event.
The crowds for this event tend to get heavier the closer the dates are to Halloween. If you want to avoid the heavy crowds, plan to attend the first event in late September or the parties in early October. It’s a good idea to ask the kids pre-trip which of the attractions they are most interested in and do those things as you’ll not be able to do them all.
More Brick-or-Treat Details
LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat Party Nights is a special event that happens only on select fall Saturdays. Ticket holders can enjoy costume contests, trick-or-treating at candy stations filled with tasty goodies and other surprises, festive music and live entertainment.
Every guest will receive a treat bag. In 2019, they are large paper bags with a handle. The guide map is a must (with event times and treat trails marked). Use the LEGOLAND app to access the times and locations.
Brick-or-Treat Nighttime Tip: It can be quite dark in some areas of the Park after night fall. Consider having the kids carry glow sticks, wear glow jewelry or even bring a compact flashlight.
Trick-Or-Treat LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat Tips
Trick-or-treating begins at 3pm on Saturdays during the event.
There are 13 treat stations with specialty items including a LEGO commemorative Brick, a copy of LEGO Life Magazine and bonus treat stations inside SEA LIFE Aquarium.
The LEGO themed treat stations and candy carts offer a safe, fun and entertaining trick-or-treat experience for all to enjoy. Yes, even grown ups can participate!
We received Power Crunch protein bars, Jolly Ranchers, Airheads and commemorative LEGO bricks, among others. All guests will receive a complimentary treat bag to hold their goodies. You may want to bring a backpack since the kids will likely tire of carrying the bags on and off the attractions.
Treat lines are designed with barriers and have “End of the Line” signs with the name of the treat being given. This is a big improvement over prior years when the lines weren’t divided off from the regular thru-traffic in pathways.
Another improvement has been open treat carts. These are similar to what is used at Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash. The carts can serve more than one guest and greatly sped up the lines.
LEGOLAND Costume Dress-Up & Contest
Kids and adults are encouraged to dress up when attending the Brick-or-Treat Party. Check the website for certain guidelines before arriving in costume (nothing gory or inappropriate, of course).
If your kids have a particularly awesome ensemble, consider entering the costume contest. Only children 12 and under may enter and pre-registration is required at least 10 minutes before each contest begins. Prizes include LEGOLAND California admission tickets, LEGOLAND Hotel stays and LEGO toys.
Is There Food at Brick-or-Treat?
Yes, many of the restaurants are open during the special event. However at just six hours of LEGOLAND Halloween Party time, I’d recommend planning your dining ahead of time. On a prior visit, we didn’t heed this advice and used up 45 minutes out of our limited Brick or Treat time to sit down and eat. This really impacted what we were able to see and do during the event.
There are also seasonal treats available around the park, including this pumpkin crepe my kids loved! All food at LEGOLAND is prepared fresh to order. This means that lines for dining can be long. Consider dividing up while one adult waits in line.
When is the Brick-or-Treat LEGOLAND Halloween Party?
LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on select dates throughout October.
Staying at the LEGOLAND Hotel?
The LEGOLAND Hotel and LEGOLAND Castle Hotel will host their own Halloween celebrations Friday and Saturday nights. At the LEGOLAND Hotel, guests can dance at The Monster Bash and enjoy “monster training”.
The LEGOLAND Castle Hotels holds a Royal Carnival with juggling, acrobatics and other games, plus a Musical Monsters Show and the Trickster Brigade.
