Details About SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival 2024

When does the Seven Seas Food Festival Happen?

Select dates from March 1 – April 28, 2024. This open-air experience happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

What is the SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival?

This weekend event is offered in addition to the current SeaWorld San Diego park offerings.

For guests who want to participate in SeaWorld San Diego’s Seven Seas Food Festival unique recipes, purchase of a separate dining lanyard is the best bet.

The Sampler card allows guests to participate in the tasting food/brew/wine portion, with limited time offerings features on the festival food menus. The additional festival entertainment is included in the park admission.

How Does Seven Seas Food Festival San Diego Event Work?

SeaWorld San Diego theme park admission give guests access to the event. Animal shows, live entertainment, and aquariums are included in the purchase of theme park tickets.

The Seven Seas Food Festival dining is a separate purchase outside of the regular park admission. Guests may purchase a sampler lanyard online or inside the parks.

The sampler is basically a punch card with attached lanyard that can be used at any of the participating kiosks. One purchase equals one punch on the card for redemption of delicious food or beverages.

What Other Experiences Take Place at SeaWorld San Diego?

SeaWorld is one of the top things to do outside in San Diego! In addition to the theme park rides, there are educational animal encounters and aquariums. With a large entertainment calendar of animal shows and musicians, there’s always something going on in the park.

Discounted SeaWorld San Diego Tickets

Tickets for SeaWorld San Diego Seven Seas Food Festival can be purchased online or in person at the gate. It is highly recommend to purchase in advance, as guests can save a significant amount by purchasing ahead of their trip.

Theme park reservations are no longer required to visit SeaWorld San Diego.

SeaWorld Annual Pass

Annual Passes can be purchased on the SeaWorld website or person. The yearly-pass includes access to the park for the rest of 2024.

Additional incentives for SeaWorld San Diego Pass Members includes free parking, discounts on dining and merchandise. During the Seven Seas Food Festival San Diego, Annual Pass holders also receive a bonus of three additional tastings with the purchase of the sampler lanyard.

For an additional cost, guests can upgrade their Annual Pass to include two theme parks – SeaWorld San Diego and the kid-friendly Sesame Place theme park and water park.

Food Festival Sampler Lanyard

For those who wish to sip and snack through SeaWorld during the Seven Seas Food Festival event, the additional purchase of a Sampler Lanyard is encouraged. There is a cost savings for buying the sampler, versus purchasing individual dishes or drinks.

Image of previous years’ Sampler Lanyard
  • 2023 cost: 10-item Sampler Lanyard cost is $70 (equals out to $7 per item)
  • 2023 cost: 15-item Sampler Lanyard cost is $80 (equals out to $5.33 per item)

Each kiosk features a menu board that shows a photo and the price of each item if you want to purchase them without the sampler card. Generally, each item costs around $6-8 if you buy them separately.

If you plan to purchase multiple items, the 15-item sample lanyard is definitely the best value.

Seven Seas Food Festival Food & Dining Experience

SeaWorld San Diego is known for their annual Seven Seas Food Festival with a tradition of offering high-quality, gourmet dishes. SeaWorld has a commitment towards serving seafood with sustainable ingredients, something my fisherman husband appreciates.

The big question: Does the quick service style food served at the SeaWorld San Diego food festival deliver on quality and taste?

It’s truly great to be able to dine well within an amusement park during the Seven Seas Food Festival. My family has always been delighted with the options. There are a few things to know before you go:

Food Festival Kiosks Open Later – While SeaWorld may open earlier, the Festival food and dining kiosks don’t start serving until noon.

Don’t Expect Fast Service – Food is almost always prepared to order at each location. It can take a few minutes to get your order because it’s freshly made.

The longest I waited for a dish to finish cooking at a previous event was 10 minutes. But I know some guests have waited significantly longer, especially during the busiest times of the day.

There are Special Dietary Dishes – Offerings include vegetarian dishes, gluten-free and vegan. For families, look at the menu for non-alcoholic beverages and kid-friendly dishes.

Alcohol Included – Unlike some other theme parks food festivals, the Sampler Lanyard at the Seven Seas Food Festival San Diego CAN be used for alcoholic beverages. This includes wine selections, curated cocktails, and draft beers.

Spring Spectacular Fireworks – A spectacular fireworks presentation will be offered on select dates.

Balancing a SeaWorld Day with the Food Festival

With the purchase of a regular day ticket at SeaWorld San Diego, guests will have access to the favorite animal exhibits, rides, shows and attractions.

How can guests find a balance of SeaWorld entertainment in between enjoying the Food Festival? Grown-ups may feel drawn to leisurely enjoy a local brew and tasty bites. But the kids just want to get on the rides!

Arrive Early to Maximize the Day

The Seven Seas Food Festival locations serving food and drinks don’t open until 12:00 pm. This gives you plenty of time in the morning to do rides with the kids before the food kiosks even open.

Get Into Short Lines

If you find a festival food location with a short line, make a stop to pick up food and drinks. Lines will often increase as the day goes on and some food items may sell out.

Take Food into Shows

Aim to pick up food and drinks before going into open-air shows. Presentations, including Orca Encounter and Dolphin Adventures permit guests to bring in their snacks. Arrive early to get in line for meal pick up, then get a good seat in the amphitheater.

Dine While Kids Play

The newly opened SeaWorld Rescue Jr. play area is an ideal spot for kids of all ages to enjoy free time. Pick up food and beverages from nearby Food Festival locations, then sit on a bench to watch the kids play. Take turns going to dining kiosks, while the other adult stays with the kids.
